In Our Prayers

Day 284:

It's been a while since I posted with a 'day number'. Strange to look at when I think back over all that we have been through with the help of God and the support and prayers of friends and family. It seems fitting to post the number with the news of last night.

"Did you read Danielle's Carepage?" the first words out of Kim's mouth as I drove home from work yesterday talking to her over the phone.

"No," I remembered that she had went through a CT scan and they had seen a small spot on her lung. Protocol, from my limited understanding, is to wait about six weeks and re-scan to see if there's any change.

Spots can be caused for a variety of reasons (fungus, virus, water,...), so to have one is probably common in most people, but to have one when you're a cancer survivor is something that makes you stop in your tracks. We've already been down this road. We've already walked the walk. We just want to be left alone at this point and not have to face another 'what if.'

"Her scan showed the spot again, and it seems to have gotten a bit bigger," Kim went on to read me the Carepage posting. Danielle is going in today for a biopsy, bone scan, and spine MRI.

The doctors won't know anything regarding the biopsy until the end of the week. Keep Danielle and her family in your prayers as they go through the procedures today and the outcome this week.

Dave,

Not knowing how to get to Danielle's blogsite, we decided to send our prayers through your blog. Thanks Dave for sharing so that many others can join you, Kim and family in prayer for Danielle and her family.

Danielle & family . . . a special prayer has been said for good test results and prayers will continue. You are one special little girl and we want you well!

In Christian love,
Hannah's Grandpa & Grandma K.
