Their Spectacular

Day 252:

Hearts and Diamonds
S P E C T A C U L A R,....billed as an evening of glitz, glamour, and glitter, the Ronald McDonald House hosted it's 5th annual black-tie fundraiser event, with a twist. For the first time, children were asked to participate in welcoming the guests to an event that's all about supporting the children of the Ronald McDonald House.

Back at Mayo for our 3 month scans, anxiety is always an issue as the week draws closer, but this trip had a bit of a diversion to it. About a week before hitting the road for Minnesota, we received a call regarding the gala and the invitation to involve Hannah, along with Danielle and Shanna as greeters.

There's always been the quality time spent at home where 'dress up' and 'princess plays' were a mainstay of a little girl's dream, but the smile that couldn't be wiped away was something special as Hannah prepared for the Night at the Ball. There's dress shopping, accessorizing, the picture posing, and you can't forget the red carpet treatment as the girls were taken form the RMH by limo. The girls spent their 2 hours of gown time, meeting and greeting all those who were attending the spiffy event.

Hannah was also asked to sit down with the RMH people and share her experience for their quarterly publication. We have the interview set for later today.

We began this morning at 7:30 with blood work, as we move through the MRI and CT Scan later this morning. By this afternoon we'll have a chance to sit down and speak with both oncology and radiology doctors to discuss the results.

I'll try and throw on some more information and photos a bit later.

Hannah, Danielle, Kim, and Shanna represented the Ladies at the Ball.

The moms had just as much fun as the girls (even though they didn't get to go to the gala).

Peace and Prayers

Hey, did I mention how much I miss you? I mean, it's been 12 whole hours! You know prayers are coming from this family of yours. May God be by your side today, and thank you for the weekend. I couldn't have wished to spend it with anyone else. Oh, and Hannah: I love you!

Love,

PS: Bootsdav, Kim, and Max, I love you too. Though Kim, I'm sorry that Dawn couldn't help you shut that door last night without, well. You know. ;-) Hahahaha...

Oh my goodness, the Ikelers say "Hi"! It was wonderful seeing your post this evening. The Hucke's, Kelly's, and Deckers had a great weekend....but of course missed the Ikelers.

Kim, Dave, Hannah, and family we are praising the Lord this evening. We are so grateful for the clear scans. Now there's no way for the weekend to be any better. Great friends, good food, time spent together, the RMH Gala, and princess dresses. How much more could God bless our families?

Love,
Jack and Sherrie
