Day 302:
Seems like just yesterday, when we were having our first child. I remember sitting in the hospital, holding Sam while Kim caught up on some much needed rest. I distinctly remember watching basketball game after basketball game and thinking: fatherhood is good!
Today, I'm sitting on the couch watching a Spring Blizzard outside the window blanket my dreams of sitting around the fire. But,..you know what? I'm watching basketball game after basketball game and thinking: Spring Blizzard is good!
"We're going to see the new kitty! You want to come with us?" she knew that was a silly question to begin with - there's a blizzard going on out there,....and it would require movement from the couch on my part.
"Well, you shouldn't sit there all day. Come on, don't you want to go see our newest family member?" another feeble attempt deflected by my come back of..
"I'm not just sitting here! Can't you see my arms flailing about as the refs make a bad call or the players blow an easy shot?"
So, without further ado, here's our soon to be kitten:
He seems to have that same blank stare I get from the kids after telling them we need to clean the house - perfect fit for our family!
We still haven't settled on a name, so at this point, write-ins are welcome.
As I mentioned yesterday, Hannah's been working on therapy fairly regularly. Sharon, pictured with Hannah, has a wonderful touch with Hannah and makes therapy fun for her (although I'm not sure Hannah would say 'fun', but she never complains about going).
This machine holds kernels that move around Hannah's arm and works on desensitizing her scar.

With your love of basketball, how about Spalding as a name for the new member of the family? Or Dunkers as in slam dunk? Or Hoops?

What a cute addition to the family! Thanks for the pictures of Hannah's therapy; it's hard to visualize what is involved-now I can begin to understand
Okay, names for the kitten: Piper, Ronnie (after the House in Minnesota), Minnie, Courage, Strength...I could keep going. I love the ideas from the first blog, too. Have fun deciding.

P.S.: Silver! We don't have to worry about Tibetans or pollution for these Olympics!
How about a Biblical name for your new kitten.......Moses!
Cute kitty! Looks just like our Sandy.

Wow! The Kitty is getting bigger. Glad to hear that you're enjoying the bball games. Doesn't it qualify as "work" ... since your school kids are doing the brackets for math class?
See you Sunday ... Happy Easter!

If we're thinking Biblical: Habekkek (though I"m not even sure I spelled that right) is always nice. ;-) Kidding Hannah! But, I do like Buddy. Or, Dave. You know, it's really one or the other. :-) Happy Easter guys!
Love,
Shanna
Mittens, Definetly Mittens
Since he's an orange kitty...can I suggest Nemo? It's a much better fit for him than our black and white kitten (which you know ended up as Nemo). You could take our approach. Everyone in the family got to enter a name and then we voted. The name with the most votes won. Luckily, Dale's entry of "Captain Stupid" did not win!

I would name that cat VIC
